When I first started this blog, I didn’t put much thought into the name. As I mentioned in the about me section of this blog, I discovered the name “Oh Diane” back in the 80’s when it was featured in a commercial.
I can never “own” this brand because (1) it is the title of a song by the rock group Fleetwood Mac; and (2) It is also the name of an Etsy store. So for the past couple of months, I’ve been wrestling with the idea of re-branding by changing the name of this blog. When I finally decided that I was going to go through with the name change, I consulted with one of my online buddies to run the idea past her and to get her honest opinion on my idea. She gave me some great tips, and encouraged me to go for it.
So this this time around, I took the time to really think about the new name. Since I talk a lot about my family, I thought about how I could better reflect that in my blog name. What I came up with is a fusion of our names. So I’m guessing the next time you visit, the name and design of this blog will be totally different. My twitter name will be changing as well. At first I thought I would have to start over from scratch, but thankfully, the change will be seamless. All of my current followers will be moved over to the new account because I am simply changing my twitter ID.
Facebook is another issue though. As per their terms, you can only change the name of your page if you have less than 100 followers. Since I have more than 100 followers, I will have to start over. Image may be NSFW.
